iSi Twist 'n Sparkle Carbonation System Recalled Due To Exploding Plastic Bottles

Major Soda-Maker Recalled Due To Exploding Plastic Bottles

Set down the soda-maker and back away slowly.

Thursday, iSi North America, makers of the Twist 'n Sparkle Carbonation system announced a total recall of the product due to explosion hazard. According to the company, "Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and promptly return them either to iSi or to the place of purchase."

It appears that talk of this recall began a few months ago, but now that it's official, iSi is urging consumers who have these products to stop using them immediately and asking that they spread the word to other people who own Twist 'n Sparkles.

There have been nine incidents involving exploding plastic bottles, with a few resulting in cuts from flying plastic shrapnel.
