Jackson Browne And The Eagles Honor Glenn Frey At The 2016 Grammys

Jackson Browne teamed up with surviving members of the Eagles at the 2016 Grammys on Monday to honor the late Glenn Frey.

Browne joined Bernie Leadon, Timothy B. Schmit, Joe Walsh and Don Henley to play "Take It Easy," which Jackson and Frey wrote together. The song eventually became both the Eagles' first single and the first track on their debut album.

Frey, one of the band's founding members, died on Jan. 18 at the age of 67 after suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia. The musician battled intestinal issues over the last two decades.

Frey and Browne had a relationship dating back more than four decades, and Frey once credited his time living in the same Los Angeles apartment building as Browne with teaching him that great music comes from patience and persistence.

"I learned through Jackson’s ceiling and my floor exactly how to write songs," Frey once said. "Elbow grease. Time. Thought. Persistence.”
