Jamaal Charles Touchdown: Chiefs RB Turns Broken Play Into TD Against Chargers (VIDEO)

Chiefs Star Somehow Turns Broken Play Into TD

It may not have been a punt return, but Jamaal Charles' 37-yard touchdown run in the second quarter against San Diego was still reminiscent of highlight returns by Dante Hall, the "human joystick."

Trailing 20-0 and in desperate need of a score, Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel tossed it to Charles, who was in motion to the right. With several Chargers defenders already in the backfield, Charles switched directions about five yards behind the line of scrimmage. After he reversed field and made it to the left sideline, Cassel helped him out with a block that opened up a big hole.

Charles burst up the left sideline and dove for the end zone to put Kansas City on the board.

Struggling mightily before the touchdown, Charles had four carries for one yard and two fumbles lost before he took this meandering, mesmerizing trip to the end zone.
