CNN's newly appointed chief is searching for new talent, the New York Post reported on Monday.

Jeff Zucker, who was recently named CNN Worldwide President, is reportedly turning to print publications to find on-air talent for the ailing cable news network. The Post reported that the former NBC Universal chief has his eye on reporters from entertainment publications.

The news comes on the heels of CNN hiring ABC News' Jake Tapper. Rumors are also flying that Zucker, the producer responsible for turning "Today" into the number one morning television program, is thinking of moving Erin Burnett from prime time to the mornings.

It's been almost one year since CNN scrapped its morning show and replaced it with two new programs. The network's former morning host, Soledad O'Brien, returned to anchor the 7-9:00 a.m. show, "Starting Point."
