Jennifer Lopez Wins Premios Juventud's World Icon Award (VIDEO)

WATCH: J. Lo Wins BIG At Premios Juventud

Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull kicked off the 10th annual Premios Juventud awards show with an electrifying performance that encompassed a bevy of dancers and on-stage chemistry that has made the duo’s collaborations big party hits.

Pitbull was in his signature Miami-esque attire, wearing a pink blazer, white pants, a pink and white striped shirt and his sunglasses (it wouldn’t be Mr. Worldwide without them). He rallied the crowd with his rap verse as they performed a mix of “On the Floor,” “Live it up” and other hits.

JLo and Pitbull ended their performance with the same high energy they started with– a jump into a pool hidden under the stage.

Premios Juventud’s first award of the night went to the young bachata singer Prince Royce, whose songs have stolen the hearts of thousands of fans. He won the best combination or I Touch It All (Lo Toco Todo) award for “Phase II,” presented by actor Christian De La Fuente.

“I love you baby. I love you,” said Royce to his fans and team from the Premios Juventud award show at the Bank United Center in Miami on July 18. Royce also won the award for Catchiest Song (La Más Pegajosa) for “Incondicional” and the Voice of the Moment (Voz del Momento) award.

Pitbull’s message to Latinos and JLo’s emotional speech

Pitbull won the Urban Artist (Mi Artista Urbano) award and he had many thank yous.

“Like always, thank you God, thank you grandma,” he started, adding thanks to his mother, and father and brother who have passed.

“To the public, thank you,” Pitbull said. “Without you there would be no Pitbull… Latinos pa’lante, pa’ arriba, no mire para atras ni para impulso. Dale.”

JLo was the star of the night. She tearfully received the Premios Juventud World Icon (Icono Mundial) award for her role in the entertainment industry.

“When I see all these images and you beautiful faces, I feel very fortunate to be here tonight. What I have always wanted to do with my life is to create, sing, dance, act and entertain; and be a good person.

I love what I do. I’m an artist. And I know that being a role model to my community means to be responsible for my actions. I too am human, and I make mistakes. But I promise you that when I fall, I get up again. When I make a mistake, I learn the lesson and I am ready to confront the next challenge.

“I accept this award with a lot of humility and I am enormously grateful.”

The iconic Latina, who was accompanied by her boyfriend Casper Smart, also won Actress Who Steals the Screen (Actriz Que se Roba la Pantalla) award.

Mexican comedic actor Eugenio Derbez, who stars in the soon-to-be released comedy “Instructions Not Included,” won the Supernova award. He also accepted the award for Best Film (Película Más Padre) for his role in “Girl in Progress,” where he co-stars alongside Eva Mendes.

The Premios Juventud awards show’s best performances included Thalia, Marc Anthony, Prince Royce, Becky G, Lucero, Ricky Martin and newcomer Leslie Grace, who performed her bachata rendition of “Be My Baby.”

The most surprising moment of the night goes to presenters Zulayka Rivera, Miss Universe 2006, and soap star Christian Meier who locked lips before handing over the Best Soap Opera Theme Song (Mejor Tema Novelero) award to Marconi and Eliza Gonzalez for “Me Puedes Pedir lo Que Sea.”

Kevin Ortiz won the newcomer award (Artista Revelación) and actor/model Sebastián Rulli won the hottie award of the evening (Está Buenísimo).
