Foul Play Suspected In Case Of Missing Firefighter

Investigators say that they suspect foul play in the case of a Florida firefighter who went missing during a mid-February visit to Maine.

Authorities with the Maine State Police and Bangor Police Department are engaged in an ongoing search for 31-year-old Jerry Perdomo, last seen Feb. 16. His rental car was found one day later, abandoned in the Bangor Walmart parking lot.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Monday that police have named 24-year-old Daniel Porter as a "person of interest" in the case. Porter and his girlfriend, Cheyanne Nowak, 23, are believed to be among the last people to see Perdomo before his disappearance. Over the weekend, authorities searched the Jackson, Maine, home of Porter's father, where Perdomo was reportedly last seen. Accounts do not specify the victim's relationship to the Porter family.

Authorities have impounded three vehicles in connection to the case, according to MyFoxOrlando.

Perdomo was visiting Bangor to see a friend, a source told WESH. The source said that one night Perdomo left her home, where he was staying, and never returned.

Perdomo's wife is scheduled to conduct a news conference on Monday afternoon from the couple's home in Florida, according to reports.

A Facebook group has been set up with the missing person flyer. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the Bangor Police Department at 207-947-7382.
