Yves Rossy, Known As 'Jetman,' Tours Mount Fuji With Jet Suit (PHOTO, VIDEO)

What a sight.

To mark the designation of Japan's Mount Fuji as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Swiss adventurer Yves Rossy, better known as "Jetman," made no fewer than nine flights around the 12,389-foot volcano in a jet suit.

According to The Telegraph, Rossy made the flights between Oct. 28 and Nov. 3. In his suit, the 54-year-old daredevil can climb up to a speed of 190 miles per hour, traveling as high as 12,000 feet.

The London Evening Standard reports that Rossy dropped from a helicopter to circle the mountain.

"It’s a fantastic privilege to be a little mosquito flying in front of that big mountain," Rossy said, according to the newspaper.

Rossy is the first and only man to cruise the skies with jet-propelled wings. He made international headlines in 2008 by crossing the English Channel in his jet suit, and has since taken his skills to places such as the Grand Canyon and Rio de Janeiro.
