Jon Stewart Takes On Obama's Debt Speech, Resulting Flak From GOP & Dems (VIDEO)

WATCH: Jon Stewart Takes On Obama's Debt Speech

President Obama gave a press briefing Wednesday, the focus of which was the United States' trillions of dollars of debt. On Wednesday night's "Daily Show" Jon Stewart took aim at the President's speech but also criticized Republicans and Democrats in Congress for their less-than-amazing negotiating skills.

After hearing Obama rattle off the gigantic to-do list of steps needed to get our deficit under control, Stewart was overwhelmed. He didn't spend much time mocking the President, however, and quickly moved to back-and-forth in Congress. Specifically, Stewart mocked House Speaker John Boehner saying he will not accept any tax raises -- eliminating one of the only two ways to cut the deficit -- while at the same time he's willing to negotiate with Democrats.

"You're not really negotiating, it's like saying, 'I would do anything for love, but I won't do that.' You really wouldn't then do anything for love. So, I guess what I'm saying is Meatloaf's premise is faulty," Stewart concluded.

The Democrats' "counter offer" didn't please Stewart either. He demonstrated this by showing a clip of Sen. Harry Reid suggesting that the GOP are living in a fantasy dream world if they don't agree with the Democrats. Another Dem suggested the GOP could be trying to slow down the government for political gain. Stewart was ready with a jab at the Senate Majority Leader.

"if they were living in a fantasy world, would you still exist?"
