Jonathan Quick skated over to collect his Conn Smythe trophy after winning Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals, cementing his legacy as MVP of the 2012 NHL Playoffs with a brilliant performance throughout the Kings' historic run. But the man of the hour lost the spotlight to a small fan attending the postgame ceremonies later that night -- his young daughter, Madison.
Madison Quick paraded jovially across the stage of the postgame press conference, Kings flag in hand, as the media awaited her father and Kings' coach Darryl Sutter. That's when she stole the show, calling for her father's attention and playfully cooing as she pointed to the Conn Smythe trophy before finally resting in Quick's lap.
Dressed in Kings' black and silver with her father's name and number on her back, Madison competed for her father's attention as she adorably approached him every chance that she could, including Quick's one-on-one interviews, before her mother was able to carry her off.
Quick posted three shutouts along the stretch as the L.A. goaltender allowed just 29 goals in 20 playoff games. As a Vezina Trophy finalist, the 26-year-old has a chance to take home another award alongside his Conn Smythe trophy. However, it seems apparent that young Madison Quick trumps them all in her father's eyes.
Now that Quick will finally have his name on the Stanley Cup, let's just hope that they spell his name correctly.
