It is our pleasure to introduce you to Kailani Andrade Of Kailani's Korner, a photographer who spends her time blogging, if she isn't studying for class:
Who influences your style?
I dont specifically think that one person influences my style. I am constantly influenced by people, places, movies, artists and different cultures.
Who are your favorite designers?
I absolutely love Rachel Roy.
What are the five essentials in your closet?
If you were to go in my closet this second, you would probably be able to figure out my five essentials. I feel that a chunky knit sweater is a must especially with the cold weather quickly approaching. My next essential would be a comfortable, flowy (yet classy) black or white blouse. I definitely think that every girl should have one perfect fitting blouse in their closet. I also think that every girl should own a pair of perfectly-fitted dark wash flare jeans and a pair of neutral wedges.
Who takes your photographs?
When I lived at home, my boyfriend, sister or mom usually took them, but now that I am living in San Diego away from all of them, my roommate Mia takes all the pictures. She has a great eye for detail when it comes to taking outfit photos. Other than that I take all pictures posted on my site.
Why did you start your blog?
I started Kailani's Korner because I was sick of just being a student. I have always been a very artistic and creative person so when my life consisted of studying for exams and having to write paper after paper, I decided I needed to do something about it. So I decided to start Kailani's Korner as a creative outlet. My blog constantly inspires me to try new things, and to live life to the fullest.
What are your interests aside from blogging?
Blogging has become a type of lifestyle for me. It has brought up so many amazing opportunities that I am extremely grateful for. Aside from attending USD and running my own photography business, I love to be outdoors - as a kid I was involved in many sports. Living in San Diego I try to take full advantage of the gorgeous weather by exercising outside. I also love photography, capturing each moment in life is extremely important to me, so if I am not blogging or outdoors I am probably behind the camera.
What is your beauty routine?
I am extremely picky about the products I use. Being a college student I have to remain on a budget, so I keep my beauty products to a minimum which allows me to splurge on items like shoes, apparel, accessories and interior decorations. I have very sensitive skin, so it took me a while to find products that don't irritate my skin. I use Clean & Clear's exfoliating scrub in the morning and before bed at night.
My makeup routine is short and sweet for every day wear. I use Benefits Erase Paste to conceal under my eyes. After I apply Benefit's stick foundation and then lightly dust on some of MAC's studio fix powder. Then I add a little bit of L'Oreal's Voluminous mascara and I'm ready for the day.
Which beauty products can you not live without?
My Nivea Soft Skin moisturizing cream and Benefit Erase Paste.
What are your tips for aspiring bloggers?
If I could give one piece of advice to any aspiring blogger it would be to stay true to who you are, keep your content creative and original and have fun with what you do!
