Kanye West Makes Surprise Appearance At Odd Future Carnival

Kanye West made a surprise appearance and closed out the second annual Odd Future Carnival at The Los Angeles Coliseum on Saturday night (Nov. 9).

The 36-year-old rapper took the stage to perform the song "New Slaves" off his latest album "Yeezus." After giving a hug to Odd Future's Tyler The Creator, who West recently praised as a "good mentor" during an interview with Los Angeles’ 97.1 AMP Radio, West took it back a few years with a rare and unexpected performance of "Late" off his 2005 album "Late Registration."

"I ain’t perform this song in six years,” West said to audience as he struggled to recall the song at first, but Tyler was there to back him up, taking turns on verses.

Still, the appearance was bitter sweet. West was scheduled to play shows as part of his Yeezus tour in Chicago, on Nov. 7 and Nov. 9, but was forced to cancel them after a custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen was in an accident that damaged the gear beyond repair while en route to his Vancouver show. West's tour is now scheduled to resume Nov. 16 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
