Keith Ablow, Fox News Contributor, Will Not Run For Senate

Fox News Contributor Will Not Run For Senate After All

Dr. Keith Ablow, Fox News' resident psychiatrist, will not be running for Senate in Massachusetts.

Ablow floated the possibility of running for office in January. The Fox News contributor has generated controversy with his dubious theories, which include his assertion that Chaz Bono's appearance on "Dancing With the Stars" would lead children to reconsider their gender. He also suggested that Newt Gingrich's infidelity would make him a better president, and that Joe Biden showed signs of dementia during the vice-presidential debate.

Ablow's critics will be happy to know that the Fox News contributor has decided not to run for John Kerry's Senate seat in Massachusetts. On Tuesday, he told Fox 25 Boston that he will back State Rep. Dan Winslow for the spot.

"As I made clear, with the sprint to the Special Election in June, a primary fight was not in my blood," he said in a statement. "I have conferred with my chief advisor Roger Stone, who agreed with my assessment of a primary as an unwise choice for me. I am, therefore, very excited to lend my full support to Dan Winslow in the 2013 race for U.S. Senate from Massachusetts."

Ablow wasn't the only Fox News contributor who recently discussed his political prospects. Geraldo Rivera recently announced that he is "truly contemplating" running for Senate in New Jersey.
