"Remember that Chemical Brothers video with Rosario Dawson? How about that, but with Black Lives Matter?"

Pepsi’s new ad campaign appears to be spinning “Out of Control.”

The cringeworthy commercial in which Kendall Jenner appears to use soda to defuse a protest standoff faced an immediate backlash after its release Monday.

Now people are pointing out how its concept bears a resemblance to the first half of the music video for British big beat duo The Chemical Brothers’ 1999 hit “Out of Control.”

In the Pepsi ad, titled “Live for Now Moments Anthem,” Jenner appears to quell a protest by handing a cop a Pepsi.

The W.I.Z.-directed clip for “Out of Control,” meanwhile, sees Dawson standing off against Mexican police while she and a fellow protestor guzzle a soda beverage. The camera later pans out to reveal that they’re just filming a cola commercial.

Twitter users noticed the similarities, and questioned whether they were just a coincidence.

Jenner is yet to respond to the criticism, whilst Pepsi is standing by its ad.

“This is a global ad that reflects people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony, and we think that’s an important message to convey,” the company said via a statement.
