Kirstie Alley Gets Into Twitter War With Local Blogger

Local blogger Jeff Ramone got more than he bargained for last week when he replied to actress Kirstie Alley on Twitter--a tweet war that led to him being blocked (and scorned!) by the former "Cheers" star.

Ramone, whose blog is titled The Ungay Guy, replied to Alley when she tweeted about the Church of Scientology sending doctors and nurses to Haiti, according to Ramone's blog.

Ramone, who admitted to being "snarky" with Alley through his tweets, replied asking if the church would be bringing vitamins and E-meters to Haiti:

@jefframone: Will they be bringing vitamins & E-meters? RT @kirstiealley More Dr.s and Nurses being flown in today by Scientology church.this is GREAT NEWS

After a few more jabs, Alley replied...several times:

@kirstiealley: @jefframone how do you know what my views on ANYTHING are? you don't know me. You've never met me or asked me a question.

The tweet battle went on for awhile until Alley blocked Ramone...after saying this:

@kirstiealley: @jefframone WOW, you are one BITTER F...go away..play with people like yourself..cynics and well DICKS...

Ramone seemed pretty amused with the exchange, and took to his blog to defend himself:

Seriously, I have no beef with you following Scientology teachings. I don't really care who believes what. The issue at hand is the voracious criticism of psychiatry and the use of psychiatric drugs. When you say things like "We have to save the children!" it's a very pat answer that sounds like bullshit a politician uses to bullet-proof himself from criticism. How about you worry about your children and let other people worry about theirs?

As for Alley, she lost 1,000 followers just hours later. Was it the war with Ramone or Twitter cleaning out spammers? She blames spammers, he blames her. Go figure.

Read the whole exchange here. Thanks to Gapers Block for the heads up.
