Kobe Bryant Supports Brian Shaw As Next Lakers Coach

Phil Jackson's Replacement?

Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson seems to be set on retiring after this season. But who will take his place?

Kobe Bryant recently spoke with Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports and endorsed assistant Brian Shaw as Jackson's replacement.

"I feel all of the players believe in coach B-Shaw," Bryant said. "We have such a rapport with him. He's been with us for such a long time. We all have a bit of a bias towards him."

The five-time NBA champion went on to say that he doesn't "want to get in the way of management," but the players have been looking at him for a while.

Jackson, who reiterated his desire to retire after this year on Thursday, said that coaching in the NBA is "a really unhealthy lifestyle."
