Actress and comedienne Kym Whitley has been best friends with fellow actor Rodney Van Johnson for more than 20 years. Rodney has played an even bigger role in Kym's life since he offered to be the father figure for her young son Joshua. From then on, the three became a modern family.
Throughout their unconventional arrangement and the entire first season of Kym's series "Raising Whitley," Rodney and Kym straddled the line between friendship and a romantic relationship. Lately, however, Rodney has seemed ready to move everything into romance territory -- and, in this clip from the season finale of "Raising Whitley," he's ready to ask Kym an important "life-changing" question.
"There's something I want to ask you," Rodney says to Kym, placing his hand over hers.
"What's the question?" Kym asks suspiciously.
Silence.
"What?" Kym pushes. "You're all serious!"
"I want to ask you something," Rodney begins again.
In an effort to lighten the mood and fill the awkward silence, Kym begins cracking jokes. "They're real," she says, gesturing towards her chest. "That's all you've got to know. They're real. Boom."
“You need me,” Rodney says slowly, ignoring the joke. “I need you. Together we are a team. We are parents. I’m at your house all the time, so why not be in a house together with you, with Joshua...?”
Kym still doesn't understand.
“I think I should move in,” Rodney finally says.
“What?!” Kym exclaims.
Will they or won't they? The season finale of "Raising Whitley" airs Saturday, June 15, at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
