Lady Gaga's Panda Costume: Gagapanda Embraces Japan (VIDEO)

Lady Gaga's Latest Crazy Costume: A Panda?!

The genetic curiosity of the platypus not withstanding, evolution, to this point, has provided a strict and easy distinction between warm blooded species: birds hatch from eggs, while mammals incubate within a mother's womb. It's a fast and hard rule, as far as modern day earth dwellers are concerned, given the glacial pace of evolution, and can be found in any simple science textbook.

But Lady Gaga is anything but text book.

Just months after she showed up to the Grammys in a gigantic egg, the pop superstar and style curiosity took her wild, futuristic humanoid self to Japan, where she performed a giant concert for tsunami relief (and was subsequently sued).

In a happier moment, Gaga appeared on a television talk show in some very furry-inspired gear. Dressed clearly like a panda, she told the hosts, "I've been eating a lot of bamboo lately," marking, for the most part, the only constructive part of the interview. She even tweeted video of the interview out, calling herself GAGAPANDA.

And so, a panda star was born.
