Jeff Zucker:We use the term "winner" rather loosely here, but reports surfaced this week that Zucker has agreed to an exit package in the range of $30 to $40 million to step down from the company that he is largely credited with running into the ground.

Jimmy Kimmel: Kimmel scored his largest weekly audience ever for the last week in May, beating both Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Fallon.

LACMA:: LACMA got a big boost to its California Modern Design collection this week, as supporters and design aficionados gathered at the Schindler Buck house to buy new pieces for the forthcoming "Living in a Modern Way" exhibit, opening on October 1, 2011. In all, 15 objects were purchased (and $161,600 raised for acquisitions).

California's Wildlife:: While it's certainly difficult to find any good news in the catastrophe unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico, one potential glimmer of hope is its effect on the drilling debate here in California. Governor Schwarzenegger was quick to reverse his pro-drilling stance shortly after the incident, and now it appears those racing to succeed him in the GOP have backed off their party's "drill baby drill" mantra, in all likelihood killing the prospects for expanded oil drilling off of the California coast.
