There's a genius trick to preventing annoying nicks.
Step 1: Choose your razor. As tempting as it is to scrimp on razors, single blades lead to much more blood-drawing than their pricier, multi-blade counterparts. Four- or five-blade razors work best, providing the smoothest results and making it easiest to cover tricky areas.
Step 2: Try a tightening trick. This is where the magic happens. Bend your knee slightly and pull the skin toward the top of your knee taut. The flatter and smoother the canvas, the less trouble you'll have. Shave slowly in short strokes, making sure to cover the whole area. Once you've done that, straighten your leg and get rid of any remaining hair.
Step 3: Prep for next time. Even if your technique is flawless, a blade that has dulled is bound to betray. Did you know you should be blow-drying it?
