LeBron James Miami Heat Rumors Intensify Leading Up To Decision

Earlier Update: Miami Heat coach Pat Riley has reportedly rented out an entire floor of a Greenwich, Conn. restaurant. James is expected to be in Greenwich for the announcement.

EARLIER:

Just one day ago, all the buzz was LeBron James to the New York Knicks.

Today? With his official announcement just hours away, all indications are pointing to LeBron James signing with the Miami Heat.

ESPN will be broadcasting LeBron's decision live at 9 p.m. Eastern Time tonight, and it was ESPN itself which reported the "scoop" this morning that James is leaning toward signing in Miami.

ESPN's Chris Broussard stated LeBron will go to Miami to join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh "barring a late change of heart."

The report circulated quickly, including in Cleveland itself, as Cavaliers' fans hold on to hope for a last-second surprise. The latest reports have been gloomy.

Then, just after Noon today, US Magazine reported that James has rented six cabanas in South Beach this weekend to celebrate his decision, further pointing to Miami.

But perhaps the saga isn't over yet. The Cavs are apparently in trade talks with the Minnesota Timberwolves to acquire PG Jonny Flynn, also represented by LeBron's agent. Some believe Flynn in Cleveland could help woo LeBron to stay.

And for Knicks fans holding out hope, Newsday's Alan Hahn tweeted this afternoon that Knicks President Donnie Walsh says he has "no idea" what LeBron's decision will be. Walsh says it was his understanding teams would be told if they're ruled out.
