The last time John St-Onge visited Legoland Discovery Center, he was forced to leave before even getting through the front door. Now, the 63-year-old Lego enthusiast is getting an all-expenses-paid trip to the amusement park.
St-Onge tried to visit the amusement park in Vaughan, Canada, earlier this month, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Toronto Skyline lego exhibit. But St. Onge's trip ended before it even started when he and his adult daughter were told that they couldn't enter the facility unless accompanied by a child.
Legoland's marketing manager Lara Hannaford has since apologized and invited St-Onge back to Legoland for the next adult-only night in August, all expenses paid, CTV News reports. Although Legoland is geared towards children, the park does hold an adult-only night once a month with special events.
Legoland's policy of not letting unaccompanied adults into the facility is aimed at ensuring the safety of the children and families who primarily visit Legoland, according to CTV News. And it's not all that rare among family entertainment centers; for example, Chuck E. Cheese's also does not allow adults to enter without a child.
Legoland didn't immediately return phone and e-mail messages seeking comment from The Huffington Post.
