WATCH: Letterman Talks Sex Scandal: 'I Hurt A Lot Of People'

In March 2009, late-night talk show host David Letterman married Regina Lasko, his longtime girlfriend and the mother of their young son, Harry. Then, just six months after saying "I do" in a Montana courthouse, Letterman found himself at the center of a public sex scandal.

David came clean to his wife, as well as his viewers. On the "Late Show with David Letterman," he revealed that he'd had sex with women who worked for him over the years.

Now, during an interview with Oprah Winfrey for "Oprah’s Next Chapter," Letterman opens up about the headline-making scandal.

“You want to get through your whole life and not have the words ‘sex scandal’ attached to your name,” Oprah says to him.

“[I] did not make it,” Letterman says. ”I have no one to blame but myself.”

Since he came clean about his infidelity, Letterman says that his relationship with his wife is better than ever.

“I want to be the person I always thought I was and probably was pretending I was,” he says. “I hurt a lot of people... I’m not looking to blame anybody. I’m looking to find out why I behaved the way I behaved.”

Watch the interview in its entirety on "Oprah's Next Chapter," Sunday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
