Lisa Vanderpump has been working hard to prove her mettle on the dance floor, and she says she has battle scars to prove it.

"I look okay on the outside, but inside I'm falling apart," the 52-year-old "Dancing with the Stars" rookie told Access Hollywood at a dance rehearsal Friday. "I'm covered in [bruises]. I mean, it's so much harder than I thought it would be."

Vanderpump, who clinched a decent score of 18 during the premiere of the dance contest's 16th season earlier this month, has been quite vocal about the rigorous nature of her dance rehearsals.

Earlier this month, the reality TV star and restaurateur shared her exhaustion with her 548,000-plus followers on Twitter:

Vanderpump isn't the first celeb to complain about the grueling preparations required to remain competitive in the dance competition.

In 2011, talk show host Ricki Lake -- who ended up nabbing third place during the 13th season of "Dancing with the Stars" -- told USA Today that she sustained a rib injury and suffered from knee pain from the intensive practice required to prepare for the competition.

Fox's Erin Andrews, who clinched third place during the contest's 10th season, also showed off some battle wounds while competing in the ABC show. In March 2010, she tweeted a photograph of a nasty bruise she sustained while rehearsing with her pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Catch "Dancing with the Stars" on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
