LoDo Assault Victim Says Cop Fabricated Injury

A victim in a racially-motivated attack in LoDo last August now says a Denver police detective "pressured" him into fabricating an injury that helped lead to felony charges against eight suspects.

"It's very serious," said Lynn Kimbrough, a spokesperson for the Denver District Attorney's Office.

Allen Andes, a financial advisor, was attacked by a group of eight to 10 men Aug. 23 after he left a party at a downtown restaurant near 16th and Larimer Streets. The gang beat him and stole $40. Andes suffered bumps, bruises and cuts.
