Longman And Eagle Ronny's Rehab: Team Behind L&E May Open Bar In 'Lovably Crappy' Former Punk Club

Fancy Bar May Open In Shuttered 'Lovably Crappy' Punk Club

At first glance, a scuzzy punk venue and bougie Bavarian restaurant have virtually nothing in common — but that's not stopping the partners behind some of Chicago's most popular restaurant and entertainment ventures from turning the former into the latter.

The 3,200-square-foot bar will tentatively be named California Point, and Land and Sea Dept.'s Peter Toalson told DNAinfo, "Concept-wise, we're not going to stray too far from that [Bavarian theme]." Initial plans indicate the business will have a basic liquor license and serve food from off-site vendors like Girl and the Goat.

In addition to the proposed watering hole in the old Ronny's space, Eater Chicago reports the Land and Sea Dept. team is rolling out Parson's Chicken and Fish at 2952 W. Armitage in Logan Square as well as an off-site bar adjacent to the Michelin star-rated Longman & Eagle.
