Maine Polls 2012: What You Need To Know To Vote

Maine, are you ready to vote?

It's that time. Here's what you need to know about voting in Maine on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.

The closing time for Maine polls is 8 p.m.; Opening time for polls in Maine depends on the municipality, so be sure to check with your local polling place, but it will range from between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Not sure where to vote? You can enter your information at Maine.gov to see where your polling place is located.

Maine has four electoral votes up for grabs in the presidential race. The state has voted for the Democratic presidential candidate every year since 1992.

In addition to the presidential and senate elections, Maine voters will have the opportunity to vote on Question 1: "Do you want to allow the State of Maine to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples?"
