Maison Martin Margiela's Crystal Encrusted Nose Clip: Worth $150? (PHOTOS)

Are you ready for this?

What's that nose clip, Margiela?

The avant-garde fashion house Maison Martin Margiela sent a crystal encrusted nose piece down its spring 2013 runway last September, but it only recently became available for purchase on retail sites like Lagarconne.com.

For a cool $150, you can own your very own blinged-out nasal accessory. Swoon? Maybe not.

The nose pad, which was inspired by the clip that bridges a pair of spectacles, looks more like a nose plug you'd wear while swimming. The new trend is the latest from the conceptual design house -- but how conceptual is too conceptual?

This isn't the first time that MMM has struggled with putting out pieces that appeal to their consumers. The label's recent design collaboration with H&M didn't exactly fly off the shelves, likely due to the collection's unorthodox designs and high price points.

Although the nose pad was first seen on the runway, you can now snag it on sites like Shopbop.com alongside Free People tank tops and Hudson jeans.

Is the world ready for nose clips? Or should this trend be left to synchronized swimmers?
