Marriage Advice: Gene and Julie Gates Talk Marital Job Descriptions (VIDEO)

The Simplest Way To Make Your Marriage Work

Last week, volleyball champ Gabrielle Reece revealed that being "submissive" to her husband, pro surfer Laird Hamilton, helps make her marriage stronger.

On HuffPost Live Tuesday, host Abby Huntsman discussed Reece's remarks with husband-and-wife business team Gene and Julie Gates, the co-owners of Dallas restaurant Battuto Kitchen. Julie revealed that her marriage to Gene works not because she's submissive, but because the couple has established "job descriptions" for themselves within their relationship.

For example, Julie said, "Gene does the cooking, I do the dishes. We try to evenly distribute the work at home -- and it works!"
