Martha Stewart's Chic Courtroom Style (PHOTO)

You can always look fashionable, not matter the circumstance.

"I get knocked down, but I get up again" takes on an entirely new meaning with Martha Stewart. The lifestyle mogul, who built an empire baking cookies and decorating houses, fell on some hard times when she was accused of lying to government officials about a stock sale. The New Jersey native was eventually found guilty and spent time in prison for the offense. Yet, spending several weeks behind bars didn't stop this tycoon. Since then, she has launched "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" (a spin-off of the original television series), and has continued to grow her lucrative media and merchandising company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

Eight years ago today (on Mar. 4), Stewart was released after serving her five-month sentence. In this 2004 photograph, she is pictured looking fabulous while on trial. Her pea green pashmina, structured handbag and leather booties are testament to the fact that you can still look chic, even when you're facing jail time. We could all stand to take a page out of Stewart's book (her style book, that is).
