Masterminding is a concept where people come together and they create ideas. Sometimes you get stuck, and your creative brain gets in a rut that is really hard to get out of.

A solution? Masterminding.

I've been hosting masterminding sessions for a few years now and they are one of my favorite things to do!

The book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, talks about the power of masterminding. He calls masterminding and being around like-minded people the third brain.

Often when you're sitting alone trying problem solve, nothing really comes up as a solution. As soon as you talk to someone else about it something really awesome can happen for you.

That's the great thing about masterminding. When you are with another person and you discuss the ideas you have for your business, something greater than the two of you comes into play. The collision of your thinking and someone else's creates another presence with new thoughts and ideas.

I really believe in that.

What I love about masterminding sessions is that people come together and achieve really powerful things for their business.

There are plenty of different types of masterminds. They can vary from one-day sessions all the way up to a yearlong session. I facilitate a group business-coaching program but I also have what I call "A Day of Masterminding."

During my mastermind sessions, I bring up to a maximum of 8 people together. They each get an equal amount of time to discuss their business.

Essentially, you talk about what's going on in your business, and what you need help with. The solutions flow not just from me as the facilitator, but from the whole group - everyone shares their insights and their experience with you.

You might be thinking, "Gee, I only get one turn? I don't want to go for a whole day if I only get one turn." But people really end up feeling like every turn was their turn because they can relate so well to the challenges that other people are having in their businesses.

The solutions and ideas that come forward truly benefit everyone.

When you work with someone who knows how to create a sacred space where people can share their ideas and support each other in a confidential way - it's incredible! I have seen many people overcome some of the crucial things that are holding their business back from success.

Sometimes you can't help but intersect parts of your business life with your personal. But every once in a while it's the personal stuff that's getting in the way of your business. Knowing this is beneficial because if that's what you need to have a breakthrough in your business, then it's time to deal with those personal things.

I have heard people leaving masterminding sessions saying, "That is NOT what I expected to talk about today." But it's great because other members shared and discussed things that they didn't even realize they needed to address in their own business.

People walk away from masterminding sessions with what they need.

What you should expect from masterminding sessions may surprise you.

Leave a comment and let me know what you think of masterminding sessions - have you ever participated in one, was it what you thought it would be? Would you do it again?
