Japan's Coolest DJ Makes A Great Tour Guide (VIDEO)

Japan brings to mind a lot of travel must-dos: Tokyo's crazily busy Shibuya intersection, Mount Fuji's white-tipped peak, the orange gates of Fushimi Inar and the famous temples that pepper Kyoto's topography. It's a country of tradition, culinary delights, and enough weird anime to keep any Japanophile happy.

And while it doesn't have the international reach of Gangnam Style and Korea's pop scene, Japan also boasts a hip underground music and hip-hop culture. It may not be on the surface and it may be off the tourist trail, but in cities like Osaka, the nightlife is some of the best in the continent - underground clubs, late-night nooks for local eats, and parties that don't end until dawn arrives on the land of the rising sun.

At the forefront of Osaka's music scene is DJ Lead, a hip-hop DJ who is seen on the stage on multiple nights a week in Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo. In this video below, DJ Lead talks about how he got first into DJ-ing, Japan's history towards nightclubs, and why he will always love the culture of the club.
