Meredith Vieira recently experienced a major scare with her husband.
She tweeted Monday,
Spent scary weekend in hospital with Richard after we discovered he had a blood clot in his leg that had partially gone to his lungs

It is unclear what caused the blood clot. Vieira's husband Richard Cohen has multiple sclerosis, and both Vieira and Cohen have opened up about coping with his health condition before. Vieira is currently preparing for the launch of her talk show later this year, and was recently in Sochi covering the Olympics for NBC.
