Is actor Michael Madsen as badass as all that? The only way to really know is to ask his mother.

In this touching episode of The Dinner Party with Elysabeth Alfano, Michael and his Emmy-Award winning filmmaker mother, Elaine Madsen, join me at the Sunset Marquis in Los Angeles. Over Cheeseburgers and Chicken Paillard from Cavatina Restaurant, Michael, Elaine and I dish on Michael's career and longstanding relationship with Quentin Tarantino, and Elaine's new movie, I Know a Woman Like That about 17 women, such as Lauren Hutton, Eartha Kitt, Rita Moreno and others who are still living large and creating well into their 70s. I know a Woman Like That is out in theaters and on digital platforms this May. It was produced in conjunction with Elaine's daughter, actress Virginia Madsen, and her production company, Title IX Productions.

In a truly rare and heart-warming moment, Michael and Elaine, both poets, each read a poem they wrote inspired by the other. We also discuss Michael's career twists and turns, his mischievous youth, Elaine's most recent project-at 84!-as Editor in Chief of Felix Magazine, parenting joys and challenges, and what Michael learned on The Hateful Eight. Plus Michael dispels a long-running myth regarding working with John Malkovich.
