Michael Bruce Seach Charged In Sexual Assault Of Wife's Ex-Husband In Utah

Man Charged In Sexual Assault Of Wife's Ex-Husband

A Utah man had some sensitive information about his wife's ex-husband, and he allegedly used it to get money and sexual favors out of the victim.

That's what police say about 49-year-old Michael Bruce Seach, who was charged Wednesday in a bizarre case of alleged forcible sodomy, rape, extortion and unlawful weapons possession. According to the Standard Examiner, the victim, who had once been married to Seach's wife, told police that for the past 10 months, Seach demanded payments for the undisclosed information -- recently, those "payments" included sexual favors.

"Through that relationship, the suspect had gained some information on the victim and was using that information to extort him for money. And then had eventually used that information to extort him for the sexual assault and then had threatened his life if he did not participate," said Riverdale Police Lt. James Ebert.

The victim initially declined the sexual proposals. That's when Seach threatened his life in the Willard area, Ebert said. Between Saturday night and Sunday morning, the man was sexually assaulted at the Motel 6 on Riverdale Road.

The man escaped and ran to the front lobby to call police. Officers found him with a blindfold still around his neck, Ebert said.

The victim has not been identified, according to the New York Daily News. The information that was allegedly being used for the blackmail wasn't released.
