Miguel Cabrera Ejected: Chris Sale Celebrates Not Having To Face Tigers Star (VIDEO)

WATCH: Miguel Ejected, Pitcher's Hilarious Reaction

White Sox ace Chris Sale didn't hide his excitement after home plate umpire Brian Gorman made sure he wouldn't have to face Miguel Cabrera again after the first inning.

Chasing his second straight Triple Crown title, Cabrera tried to check his swing on a slider that ended up hitting him on the knee. But Gorman ruled that Cabrera swung and called a strike. According to Jason Beck of MLB.com, Cabrera said something after the next pitch and Gorman ejected him.

Sale appeared to be quite relieved about the ejection.

While Gorman claimed that Cabrera continued to argue about the strike call, the Tigers slugger said he was "shocked" at the ejection.

"I don't think I said anything to get thrown out of the game, especially right now,” Cabrera said, via the Detroit Free Press. "We're in the race. You don't want to get thrown out of the game. You know what I mean? You want to fight. You want to compete. I don't know why. I don't know what happened. I don't know why he threw me out."

The White Sox went on to win, 5-1.
