Huckabee Talk Show Gets Low Ratings

Mike Huckabee's new syndicated talk show began its six-week tryout Monday. So far not many people seem to be watching.

Broadcasting and Cable reports that the premiere episode of the show--which is called "The Huckabee Show" and which is being tested in seven media markets across the country--averaged a 0.6 rating. That's a 45% drop-off from its lead-in show, and 33% lower than the show that was in the same time slot last year.

In some markets, the show drew 88% fewer viewers than its lead-in. The only market where "The Huckabee Show" outperformed its lead-in was Atlanta, B&C reports.

"The Huckabee Show" is airing on select Fox stations as part of a six-week trial. If the trial is successful, Huckabee could become the host of a syndicated talk show (this is the same process by which Wendy Williams landed her show).
