Mike Wroebel's 'Game Of Thrones' Characters: French Graphic Designer Gives Westeros A Contemporary Update (PHOTOS)

If 'Game Of Thrones' Happened In The '90s...

"Game of Thrones" fans might still be reeling after this past week's airing of a certain Season 3 episode, in which [SPOILER ALERT] more than a few of the Westeros characters ran into serious trouble. But why stew over the tragedy that was the Red Wedding when you can feast your eyes on a GoT graphic design project like this:

The series, imagined by French artist Mike Wroebel, depicts Arya Stark, Jon Snow and crew as modern hipsters, donning 20th century ensembles that reflect each of the character's feisty personalities. Our personal favorite? Daenerys Targaryen as a doting ferret owner.

"Everybody knows how popular the show is -- there's an amazing quantity of fan art. I wanted to contribute too," Wroebel explained in an email to The Huffington Post. "This idea of a 1980s or '90s version of 'Game of Thrones' just came up a bit naturally. The '90s are my best memories. So I just thought it would be funny to imagine what a serious dark show like GoT would look like in a contemporary period."

Scroll through the slideshow below for a look at Wroebel's awesome TV-inspired creations and let us know what you think of the updated characters in the comments.
