There was backstabbing and bitchiness galore on the series premiere of "Million Dollar Listing New York" (Wed.. 10 p.m. EST on Bravo).
Realtor Ryan Serhant was having lunch in Chelsea with a potential client when his nemesis, smooth-talking Swedish realtor Fredrik Eklund, walked in.
Ryan was pissed. "There's more than three thousand restaurants in New York City alone, and Fredrik just happens to be strolling through this one? Fredrik is a shark, and he does what sharks do."
Sensing blood in the water, Fredrik moved in for the kill and blatantly tried to steal the client away from Ryan.
First up he emphasized how much more experience he had as a realtor, to which Ryan immediately added, "He's much older than me."
The uncomfortable-looking client tried to change the subject by mentioning that Ryan used to be an actor. Surprise, surprise, Fredrik used to be an actor too!
"He's done gay porn," said Ryan.
There was an awkward moment while the client took that in, before the realtor formerly known as Tag Eriksson segued into, "So you're selling an apartment?"
Having been invited to sit down, Fredrik continued to wreck Ryan's plans. When the client told Fredrik that the younger guy had done over $100 million in sales the previous year, Fredrik's rejoinder was "Really? I did a billion." (Really, Fredrik?)
At this point Ryan started to look nauseous and could only watch as Fredrik handed the client his card: "In the event you actually want to sell the apartment and not just list it."
While he was ramping up his charm offensive Ryan quickly took Fredrik's business card and slipped it into his jacket pocket.
