Milo Wild, Australian Man, Chooses Jail Time Over Court-Ordered Alcohol Ban

Australian Man Chooses Jail Over Alcohol Ban

If given the choice between three months in jail or two years without alcohol, which would you choose? For Australian man Milo Wild, the answer is simple: He would rather spend a few months behind bars than be free and unable to drink.

The 22-year-old was arrested last April after he exposed himself, threw urine at park rangers and generally wreaked havoc at Litchfield National Park on Anzac Day, a national day of remembrance for the army corps of Australia and New Zealand.

Wild received a suspended three-month jail sentence, along with a mandate to complete 120 hours of community service and abstain from alcohol for two years, according to NT News.

It seems Wild has not followed the court order, however.

After police spotted him at a pub in Darwin Saturday, the 22-year-old was hauled back into court, where his attorney said that Wild preferred jail time over the alcohol ban, NT News reports.

Wild is not the first to choose jail over the alternative. Earlier this month, a New Zealand man who was on house arrest opted to serve the remainder of his sentence in a jail cell because he "had run out of Xbox games to play."
