Monocle Shop Opens In West Village

The Monocle Shop has come to New York.

The store, an offshoot of the global culture magazine created by Tyler Brûlé, opened this week in the West Village and "will carry the brand's constantly evolving collection of fashion and lifestyle products," according to an announcement.

The store will carry a carefully-curated and international collection of items ranging from Porter bags to Comme des Garçons for the Hinoki fragrance and candles to Another Country stools and benches to Skeppshult bikes and Inoue Brothers sweaters.

The 188 square-foot shop is located on Hudson Street near Charles Street in the West Village, and joins London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Los Angeles Monocle Shops.

"It was a running debate as to whether we should be up, down, east or west, but our little store on Hudson Street is the perfect complement to our other locations," Brûlé said.
