Richard Sandberg, Morrison Man, Arrested After ATF, Bomb Squads Search Morrison Home For Explosives

ATF, Bomb Squad Search Morrison Home For Explosives

Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and members of multiple bomb squads searched a Morrison home on Thursday morning believing explosive devices were inside the home.

The Denver Post reports that 35-year-old Richard Larence Sandberg was arrested at the home and taken into custody this morning, but his relationship to the home searched at 4648 South Swadley Way and the investigation has not been revealed. Authorities are not looking for additional suspects.

A neighbor to the house that was searched told 9News that they thought Sandberg was a Marine and that they often saw him welding items and building cages in his driveway in the evening.

According to 7News, the neighborhood and park are blocked off with crime scene tape.

Fox31 reports that the ATF search and arrest was part of a collaboration with the Denver Police Department.
