3 Secrets to Slow the Aging Process.

We can’t evade getting old. And why should we want to? Even if we have surgeries to look good and take pills to feel good, time takes its inevitable toll. In reality, we should be more concerned with our health than our appearance as we age. But the two go hand-in-hand: if we take good care of ourselves, we can shine at any number. As a 61-year-old woman, I’ve come to acknowledge that aging is both the most beautiful and hardest lesson of life. That’s because it’s difficult to age with true grace, ease, and acceptance. Aging requires that we apply all the wisdom we’ve collected to prolong the well-being of our minds and bodies: putting our resources together and acknowledging the totality of who we are. The way we age is a reflection of our mindset and lifestyle―it is now that former good or bad decisions manifest. Because of this, we each age differently. In my life, I believe I’ve found my own aging secrets. Apart from intaking wholesome foods and getting plenty of physical movement, these are my everyday tips to deter the effects of time:

1. Panacea Extra Strength Shilajit Cream. Aging is an admittedly painful process, as our bodies cannot perform their functions as well as they used to. One of the most common indications of aging is joint pain caused by inflammation. This can be brought on by a range of conditions from arthritis to strains. Back pain is also a typical complaint because with time, the disks between the vertebrae of the spine wear away and cause the bones to rub against each other. Such pains range from moderate to downright debilitating, and no one should have to live with them. I’ve tried many products to treat my daily pains and settled on shilajit cream, particularly Panacea Extra Strength Shilajit Cream. Shilajit is a nutrient-rich mixture of minerals hailed by traditional Ayurveda as India’s most precious herbal remedy. Now, modern science has proven that shilajit contains fulvic and humic acids, substances that produce energy within cells. Energy allows cells to regenerate. The Panacea brand developed a new extract of mountain wax shilajit that has been shown to be 300 times more active than raw shilajit. It helps to relieve joint pain associated with arthritis in the hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, hips, and knees, as well as lower back pain. The cream activates a synthesis of new collagen and other extracellular matrix proteins necessary for the healing of damaged joints, prevents tissue inflammation, and stimulates blood flow. It supports a rejuvenation of skin and even aids in removing wrinkles! What I like most about this product―besides the fact that it works―is that it’s manufactured in the USA and contains natural shilajit collected from the Himalayan mountains.

2. Old Tibetan Cure. Aging is associated with illness. As our bodies struggle to keep up, diseases creep in. The natural world is abundant with resources to help not only slow down the aging process, but prevent age-related illnesses. All health conditions stem from a compromised immune system. To keep our immune systems strong, therefore, our bodies must receive the necessary antioxidants. Years ago, I came across a concoction that I believe to be nothing short of incredible. It’s the Old Tibetan Cure with a few more ingredients: two lemons, four teaspoons of organic honey, one teaspoon of baking soda, and a lot of crushed garlic. Lemon aids in digestion and detoxification and contains vitamin C. Honey reduces the risk of certain cancers and has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial qualities. Baking soda neutralizes stomach acid, heartburn, and clears infections. Garlic can improve blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and detoxify the body. Together, these four ingredients deliver a powerful antioxidant package. Leave the composition in the refrigerator for a few days to break down. Take one teaspoon each morning when you wake up on an empty stomach. It may not taste amazing but your immune system will thank you for it.

3. Alkaline lifestyle. I highly recommend living an alkaline lifestyle. Our bodies must maintain a delicate balance between levels of alkaline and acid in order to thrive. The term pH stands for “potential of hydrogen” and refers to the concentration of hydrogen atoms in a solution, ranging from 0 to 14. The higher the pH number, the more alkaline the solution. The ideal human pH level is 7.35 to 7.45, but the typical Western diet makes it almost impossible for the body to remain on the alkaline side. Excess acidity in the body brews diseases such as osteoporosis, sarcopenia (muscle loss), fractures, and kidney stone formation. Research has shown that acid-related health problems even extend to diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid problems, cancer, etc. I installed an alkaline water filtration system in my home (the Jupiter Ionizer) and since I did, I noticed that I sleep more soundly and feel more energized throughout the day. If this isn’t an option, you can purchase alkaline water with a high pH level over the internet, in supermarkets, or in health food stores. Diet is essential in the alkaline-to-acid ratio: fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes are alkaline in nature while meat, poultry, fish, dairy, eggs, grains and alcohol are all acidic. Neutral foods include natural fats, starches, and sugars. Interestingly, stress also induces acidity!

We mustn’t be afraid of growing old, because there exist wonders in aging not found in any other phase of life. There are countless positive things you can do to heal yourself, enjoy good health, and prolong youth. These are just three of the many anti-aging secrets you can adopt on a daily basis to become truly ageless!
