New York Mag Leads Pack With 9 National Magazine Award Nominations

The New York Times Magazine received seven nominations. GW and The New Yorker got six and five, respectively.

The American Society of Magazine Editors announced on Thursday the nominees for the 2016 National Magazine Awards -- the magazine industry’s highest honors. ASME released the nominations on Twitter.

New York magazine had the strongest showing, with nine nominations. The New York Times Magazine came in second with seven nominations. GQ got six and The New Yorker, five.

The Huffington Post received two nominations. Vice and BuzzFeed were also nominated.

The winners of the awards will be announced on Feb. 1 in New York City.
