Not once during his cozy, 34-minute interview with Rudy Giuliani last week did Williams ask the candidate a single uncomfortable question. Williams--who moderated one Democratic debate and badgered the hopefuls with loaded, contentious questions--seemed more intent on befriending Giuliani than seriously questioning him.
Let me put it this way, Williams' first question to Giuliani was met with a hearty laugh by the candidate, and Williams' final question to Giuliani was met with a hearty laugh by the candidate. And in between Williams failed to ask virtually every obvious question about Giuliani's campaign do date.
