Neugebauer, 'Baby Killer' Yeller, Apologizes For Appearing To Yell At Stupak (VIDEO)

Rep. Randy Neugebauer smiled broadly as he was introduced on Fox News' "Hannity" Tuesday.

The Texas Republican was there for an "exclusive interview" after interrupting the speech of Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) Sunday by yelling "Baby killer" at the pro-life Democrat. Despite the fact that the bill will not allow federal money to be used for abortions, Neugebauer continues to claim that it will.

Neugebauer says that he yelled "It's a baby killer," not "baby killer." But in a recording of the outburst only the words "baby killer" are audible.

Neugebauer told Sean Hannity that he apologizes for appearing to call Stupak a "baby killer."

"I regret that it was an inference that I was talking about Congressman Stupak. I don't apologize for speaking what I thought was the truth. I believe that this bill was a baby killer. And I'm not backing down or apologizing for that. The fact that some thought that I was speaking about Congressman Stupak that was what I apologized to him about. But I'm not ever going to apologize for expressing my feelings about something as important as this legislation."

Neugebauer has used the incident as a campaign fundraising tool and is advertising on Google, encouraging would-be donors to "stand with Neugebauer" and "donate today."

Much like Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), the congressman who interrupted President Obama's address to Congress in 2009, Neugebauer has cut a YouTube video asking for donations.

Stupak told CQ Politics that he was surprised that Neugebauer was using the outburst to ask for donations. "I'm beginning to believe that's how you raise money around here is insult somebody." Neugebauer has refused to apologize on the floor of the House.
