NFL Combine 40 Times Show Clear Inaccuracy (VIDEO)

40-yard dash times at the NFL Combine are pored over by fans, scouts and players alike. A fast 40 time can help vault a prospect up teams' draft boards, but the number is only useful if it is, at the very least, accurate. A clip shown on the NFL Network last night calls the basic accuracy into question.

At the combine in Indianapolis, USC defensive back Taylor Mays' 40-yard dash was originally measured at 4.24 seconds, but the figure was later corrected to 4.43 seconds. However, when transposed with other leading speedsters, Mays clearly out-sprints Trindon Holliday, who was officially timed as 0.09 seconds faster than Mays.

As Rich Eisen says in the below video, Mays' timing "has to be flawed." Scroll down to see the comparison.
