Thursday marks 44 years since President Richard M. Nixon resigned amid the Watergate scandal, and some people used Twitter to remind President Donald Trump of the anniversary.
Some were subtle posts noting the significance of the date when the resignation ― which Nixon announced on TV the night before ― took effect. Others were far more blunt toward the current president:

#Nixon resigned Aug 9, 1974 - #Trump think of the show value it would be to resign on the 44th Anniversary. Think of the ratings! #ResignNow #NixonResigns
