WATCH: Gavin Creel's New LGBT Rights Anthem Premieres

Tony Award-nominated actor Gavin Creel is offering up his thoughts on gay rights and marriage equality in song for his new pop-rock single, "Noise."

The video for "Noise," which is co-written by Robbie Roth, intercuts historic footage of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights movement with scenes of the star performing the tune in a club.

"I hope this song motivates people to take action, fight complacency and stand up for what they believe in," Creel, best known for his starring roles in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and "Hair," said in a statement. "I urge everyone to help the song and its message go viral by posting it online, purchasing it as a holiday gift for others, and talking to friends and family who may not understand or believe in marriage equality, so that those people with the power to actually change our laws will hear from us."
