NYPD Gun Bust Recovers A 3-Foot-Long Alligator

During a gun bust in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn on Monday, NYPD officials recovered a slew of illegal possessions including two loaded pistols, marijuana, and a 3-foot-long alligator.

The Daily News reports police were executing a search warrant at an apartment belonging to Michael and Alisa Volpe when they discovered the caged reptile.

Alexander Humphreys of the Zoological Society of Florida identified the animal as an American alligator.

All in a days work for the New York's finest? Just last month, officers were searching the home of a New York housing project when they stumbled upon 13 exotic animals, including two alligators, two bearded DRAGONS, one gecko, one scorpion, six snakes, and a tarantula.

The owner was not arrested, but the mini zoo of pets was removed.
