BROWNSVILLE — A gun-toting 16-year-old was shot by police on a Brownsville rooftop Monday night, an NYPD spokesman said.

The teen was shot in each arm and his right ankle after a 911 call alerted police to gunfire atop 2294 Atlantic Ave., near Rockaway Avenue, at 9:37 p.m., police said.

Officers found two young men on an adjoining rooftop, one of whom was holding a Ruger revolver, police said.

The cops shot the 16-year-old who they said was clasping the firearm. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in stable condition.

A 22-year-old man who was with him was arrested at the scene.

The revolver was recovered and charges against both men are pending, police said.

The responding officers were not shot, but were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and treated for tinnitus, according to the NYPD spokesman.
